Orange City, Iowa — An O’Neill Nebraska man who used to live in Ellsworth, Minnesota has been arrested on a warrant for felony burglary charges dating back to 2021.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Orange City Police Department, 43-year-old Shawn Jorgensen is accused of entering several vehicles, some parked inside garages, and stealing several items. He was arrested on the warrant on Monday.
Jorgensen was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and third-degree burglary, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to fifteen years in prison if ordered to serve the time consecutively. He also faces a laundry list of misdemeanor charges in connection with the case, including seven counts of third-degree burglary of a vehicle, two counts of fourth-degree theft, four counts of fifth-degree theft, and one count of fifth-degree criminal mischief.
He faces a preliminary hearing on December 17th.
At last report, Jorgensen remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
