Sioux Center, Iowa — One person was taken to a hospital by ambulance after an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident near Sioux Center on Wednesday, September 25.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 9:00 p.m., 16-year-old Lane Waddle of Sioux Center was driving a 2020 Polaris Ranger XP1000 UTV westbound in the field, about a mile south of Sioux Center. Waddle reported his vision was obscured by dust and low light conditions when he entered a ravine, lost control of the vehicle, and rolled.
Lane reported minor injuries, but a passenger in the vehicle was transported by Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of serious injuries.
The Polaris sustained about $2,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office tells us the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department, and Sioux Center Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
