Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman was taken to a hospital after a collision near Rock Valley.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, a few minutes before 7:15 a.m., 61-year-old Brenda Doppenberg of Rock Valley was driving a 2014 Dodge Journey eastbound on Highway 18, about a mile east of Rock Valley. They tell us 28-year-old Taras Paniuta of Northbrook, Illinois was driving a 2024 Volvo semi-tractor pulling a flatbed trailer eastbound on Highway 18. The report says Doppenberg struck the rear of the semi’s flatbed trailer.
The Rock Valley Ambulance took Doppenberg to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley.
The Dodge sustained approximately $7,500 in damage. The trailer sustained approximately $1,500 in damage.
Doppenberg was cited on a charge of following too closely.
The sheriff’s office says the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, and Rock Valley Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
