Orange City, Iowa — The MOC-Floyd Valley Board of Education has offered a contract for the position of High School Principal to a Sheldon educator.
Mr. Levi Letsche is currently the head football coach and instructional coach at Sheldon High School, where he previously taught mathematics for six years. MOC/FV officials say Mr. Letsche graduated from Northwestern College in 2017 with degrees in mathematics and secondary education. In 2020, he graduated from Northwestern College with his master’s in educational leadership and administration. He is a three-time all-conference offensive lineman for Northwestern, earning first team all conference honors his senior season in 2016 and recently served as an assistant line coach for the 2021 national championship team.
MOC/FV officials tell us Letsche was one of five finalists for the Iowa Teacher-of-the-Year Award in 2023 and in 2022 he was named to the Northwestern College Athletic Hall of Fame. As an instructional coach, Mr. Letsche worked with administrators and principals to deliver professional development, mentoring first or second-year teachers, and modeling instructional strategies for staff.
Letsche replaces Mr. Mike Mulder, who will be the new Superintendent of Schools at MOC-Floyd Valley, after the retirement of Mr. Russ Adams, beginning July 1st , 2024. Letsche will begin his duties at MOC/FV on August 1st , 2024.
