Orange City, Iowa — A Sibley man has been arrested on felony weapons charges after an investigation.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 45-year-old Gary Stallings of Sibley is accused of driving a vehicle that contained 12 stolen guns to an apartment building in Orange City where they were to be traded for illegal substances. He was arrested earlier this month.
Stallings was charged with trafficking in stolen weapons, dominion or control of a firearm by a felon, and second-degree theft, all class D felonies. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison on each charge for a total of 15 years if ordered to serve the sentences consecutively.
He faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on Friday.
At last report, Stallings remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $15,000 cash or surety bond.
