South Dakota Gov. Noem Is Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary; Lt. Governor Sworn In As Governor

South Dakota — Our neighbors just over the border to the west in South Dakota have a new governor.

The man who was recently South Dakota’s Lieutenant Governor has taken that state’s top post.

Larry Rhoden was sworn in as the 45th governor of South Dakota Monday. Rhoden replaces former Governor Kristi Noem who was confirmed by the US Senate over the weekend to be the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rhoden spoke briefly following his inauguration and assured all South Dakotans he is ready for his new role.
