KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Morningside (Iowa) garners the No. 1 ranking in the ninth regular-season edition of the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.
Morningside is 9-1 on the year with its only loss coming to NCAA Division III No. 1 Wisconsin-Whitewater, 33-30, on Sept. 24. The Mustangs are currently tied atop the Great Plains Athletic Conference standings with No. 4 Doane (Neb.) at 8-0. The two sides determine the conference champion Saturday at 1 p.m. in Sioux City, Iowa.
Elsewhere in the GPAC, Dakota Wesleyan moved up to 15th, while Northwestern fell out of the polls from the 22 spot.
