Sioux City, Iowa — Northwestern College earned the No.5 seed for this week’s Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) postseason tournament announced by the league office Sunday.
Northwestern finished the regular season with a 12-10 record in conference play, 26-16 overall, to claim the No.5 seed in a tie-break scenario with Doane, who also finished with a 12-10 league record. The Raiders will play No.4 seed Jamestown on Wednesday, May 5 at noon in the first game of the Midland Bracket on Christiansen Field in Fremont, Neb. The other game in the bracket pits top-seed Midland, the GPAC regular season champion, against No.8 Briar Cliff.
The Morningside bracket, hosted by the No.2 seed Mustangs, features No.3 Concordia vs No.6 Doane at 10am; the noon match-up is Morningside vs No.7 Mount Marty; all games at the Jensen Softball Complex.
