2022 GPAC All-Conference Softball Teams

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The 2022 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball All-Conference team has been announced after a vote of league coaches. This year’s GPAC All-Conference Team consists of a first-team, second-team, and an honorable mention list. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­

Roni Foote from Midland was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Player-of-the-Year while Aliyah Rincon of Midland was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Pitcher-of-the-Year. Beth Singleton from Midland was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year.

Jennifer Boeve (Jr., Hastings, Neb.) earned her third All-Conference honor, finishing with a .411 batting average, that mark is good for fifth in the GPAC. She also tallied 37 RBIs, which ranks ninth in the conference. Boeve started and played in all 50 games for the Raiders, proving to be a valuable piece to their success. She notched a .996 fielding percentage, which ranked first on the team for qualifying players. Boeve and company notched top-10 single season program records, her 20 doubles on the season sets a new Northwestern softball program single season record and was the most in the conference. Boeve tallied the eighth most at-bats with 175, resulting in 71 hits which is tied for seventh in program history for a season. Boeve was a valuable piece of the offense for the Raiders scoring 51 runs, tying her for seventh in a season.

Bri Giordano (Sr., Arroyo Grande, Calif.) has earned her first All-Conference honor. She finished second in the GPAC in batting average at .442, that mark is tied for fifth in program history for a single season, and tallied the most hits in the conference with 72. Her 53 RBIs on the season led the Raiders and was second in the conference. Giordano started all 50 games for the Raiders and finished with a .983 fielding percentage. Giordano finished with one of the better offensive seasons, landing in the top-10 in program single season history in five different categories. She tallied 72 hits which is tied for fourth in a single season in program history. Giordano batted in 53 runs for the Raiders which finishes sixth in program history for a season. She finished second in program history in doubles with 19 on the season. Giordano’s .669 slugging percentage lands her at ninth on the single season record list.

Kraemer finished the season with a 16-10 pitching record, a 1.24 earned run average and 204 strikeouts. She led the league in earned run average and strikeouts and has the two highest single-season strikeout totals in program history.

Kameryn Etherington (So., Algona, Iowa) was one of the top pitchers in the conference finishing with an ERA of 2.13 in her 157.2 innings pitched to earn her second All-Conference honor in as many seasons. She tallied 21 wins, tied for first in the GPAC. Etherington punched out 140 batters this season, good for fifth in the conference. This season etched Etherington into the record book as she threw a five-inning no-hitter on March 7 against Roosevelt (Ill.). She finished with the seventh most strikeouts in a single season in program history with 140. Her 38 appearances ranks second all-time for a single season; of those, 27 were starts in the circle which ties her for seventh. Twenty-one of those appearances resulted in a Raider win which is tied for fifth most in a single season.

Jordyn Kramer (Sr., Larchwood, Iowa) earns her first All-Conference honor after a stellar senior campaign. She finished fourth on the team in batting average with a .368 mark. Kramer’s 39 RBIs was good for eighth in the GPAC, and her four triples on the season Kramer tied her for fourth in the GPAC. She also finished with a .921 fielding percentage after playing multiple positions for the Raider defense. Kramer also lands on Raider softball top-10 lists for her efforts this season. She notched four triples and that is good for tenth all-time for a single season, and she did it in the fewest at-bats of any player on the list. Kramer was a integral part of the offense and ended tied for sixth in sacrifice hits with 15.

Second Team
Gwen Mikkelsen Northwestern INF Jr.
Karli Olsen Dordt C So

Gwen Mikkelsen (Jr., Casa Grande, Ariz.) picked up a second team All-Conference honor in her first season with the Raiders. Mikkelsen finished sixth in the conference with a .408 batting average and tallied 60 hits, good for sixth in the GPAC. Her 16 doubles were tied for second in the conference and tied for fourth all-time in Northwestern single season history. Mikkelsen’s slugging percentage of .633 was good for sixth in the GPAC. Mikkelsen made an impact on the record books in her first season with the Raiders. In addition to her top-5 doubles mark she finished with a .408 batting average which is good for a ninth place tie in single season history.

Olsen batted .310 this year with 40 hits, six doubles and five homeruns, 21 runs batted in and 25 runs scored She also threw out 16 runners stealing and had a .990 fielding percentage.

Honorable Mention
Dordt – Chandler Schemper (INF)

Schemper batted .299 with 38 hits, four doubles, a homerun and 22 runs batted in.
