Sioux City, Iowa – A Northwestern College Red Raider has been named a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Tuesday morning March 11th.
The player named was Drew Dykstra as a pitcher. Dykstra, a senior from Urbandale, Iowa, picked up two wins on the mound last week in Florida, starting spring break with a no-hitter against Cornerstone (Mich.). In the no-hit performance, Dykstra punched out eight batters and only surrendered two walks.
In Saturday’s winning performance against Trinity Baptist, he struck out nine batters, only allowing two hits in a complete game.
