A Red Raider earns GPAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – A Northwestern College Red Raider has been named a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Wednesday, Jan. 7th.

Alex Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Van Kalsbeek, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, averaged 29.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two wins this week, eclipsing the 30-point mark with a double-double on the road at Midland.

He also picked up two blocks and a steal on the week. Van Kalsbeek now sits in second on Northwestern’s all-time scoring list and is 22 points away from becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer.
