Orange City, Iowa — Madison Blankespoor of Orange City has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Northwestern College next year.
Blankespoor is a 5’8″ middle distance runner who has competed three years for the Unity Christian High School track and field team heading into her final season this spring. Blankespoor qualified for state in three events, placing fifth as a member of the distance medley and sixth on the 4×800 relay. She was part of a 4×400 relay that claimed first place at the Sioux City Relays and has personal bests of 1:01 in the 400m, 2:28 in the 800m and 28.4 in the 200m. An honor roll student, Blankespoor plans to major in Nursing at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Darin and Denise.
“We are thrilled to have Madi run for the women’s track and field team next year,” commented Northwestern Head Coach Scott Bahrke. “She is a very talented runner who has competed in big races throughout her high school career. Madi is a hard worker, a great teammate and we look forward to watching her run over the next four years.”
