Brittany Buren to Play Softball at Northwestern

Northwestern logoOrange City Iowa — Brittany Buren of Sheldon has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern next fall.

Buren is in her fifth season playing softball for Western Christian High School. A pitcher and outfielder, Buren earned all-conference honors after hitting .369 with six doubles, three home runs and 21 RBI as a junior. She posted a 9-6 record with a 3.46 ERA in 20 appearances as pitcher. An outstanding student who was a member of the National Honor Society and a Pealle Scholar recipient, Buren plans to major in biology at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Dane and Kerri.

“We are excited to have Brittany be part of our Red Raider softball program,” commented head Northwestern softball coach Chris Nachtigall. “She is a skilled player who will give us depth for our pitching staff. Brittany not only excels on the softball field but also in the classroom and this makes her a great fit for the Northwestern College community as a whole.”
