CLGLR’s Zach Lutmer Verbally Commits To Iowa

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A day after receiving a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock quarterback Zach Lutmer announced on social media he has committed to Iowa.

The 6’2″ 185lbs dual threat quarterback is being recruited as a safety for the Hawkeyes. As a sophomore, Lutmer led the Lions to a state runner up finish and a during his junior year led CLGLR to a 7-4 record before losing to state runner up West Lyon in the 2A quarterfinals.

During his junior year, Lutmer threw for 1,016 yards, 8 touchdowns, against 5 interceptions. On the ground, he ran for 1246 yards and 22 scores. He was the Class 2A District 1 Offensive MVP.

Defensively Lutmer recorded 46.5 total tackles, 36 solo. He also had four interceptions, with one being taken back for a score.

On special teams, Lutmer added 7 punt returns, averaging 21.7 yards a return, and punted 6 times for an average of 36.8 yards per punt.

A multi-sport athlete, Lutmer helped lead the Lions basketball team to a state-runner up finish, while earning All-Substate honors, and All-Conference honors. In baseball, Lutmer earned first team All-Conference honors during his sophomore season
