The Iowa football coaches association has announced its hall of fame class for 2025, and it includes former Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Head Coach Cory Brandt.
Synonymous with northwest Iowa football, Brandt graduated from Maurice-Orange City in 1987 and attended Northwestern College before returning to MOC-Floyd Valley as a volunteer assistant. He took his first head coaching job in Burke, South Dakota before laying the foundation of Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley football.
In 25 seasons at BH/RV, his squads went 185-73 with 17 playoff appearances and six trips to the UNI-Dome, capped by a state championship in 2016. From 2011 until his retirement in 2021, the Nighthawks advanced to the quarterfinals or further eight times. The run included five semifinal appearances in the span of six years, with three undefeated regular seasons. The Nighthawks would claim the 2016 title in Class 2A and earn Brandt IFCA Coach of the Year honors.
Cory, and his wife Susan are teachers at Rock Valley and Brandt continues to coach track and field.
The 2025 class also includes former Sioux City Heelan coach Roger Jansen.
