Dordt And Northwestern Collide In Softball Action Tuesday

Dordt will host Northwestern on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00. The doubleheader was originally scheduled to be played last week but was moved because of unplayable fields.

The Northwestern Red Raiders are 7-10 this season and are playing in their GPAC opener today. The Raiders have been off since March 11 and have currently lost four games in a row.

Amber Schubert is batting .413 this season with 19 hits and 17 runs scored and she has nine runs batted in. Jennifer Boeve is batting .412 along with Vanessa Gomez and both have 14 hits. Bri Giordano has 11 runs batted in and Madison Beaver has 17 hits with a .293 batting average. Devin Dreesen has 12 runs batted in  and is the team leader in that category and has a team high eight bases on balls.

Emma Schnell is 5-5 this season with a 2.76 earned run average and she has pitched 50 innings and has 31 strikeouts. Samantha Ubben has pitched 36 innings and has a team high 36 strikeouts.

The Defenders are 6-9  this season and have been off since March 15.

Natalie Vos is batting .290 with nine hits and eight runs batted in while Rachel Evavold has a .286 batting average with eight hits in nine games. Hailey Heeringa is batting .273 with 12 hits and Marissa VandenBerg has 11 hits. Carley De Roin leads the team with two homeruns and Brooklyn Van Oort has a team high four stolen bases.

Tianna Soodsma is 3-2 with a 2.05 earned run average and she has pitched 41 innings with 28 strikeouts. Natalie Vos is 3-3 with a 2.97 earned run average and she has 26 strikeouts. Marlia Mundorf and Rachel Evavold have pitched 11 and four innings respectively.
