A Dordt Defender earns GPAC women’s soccer Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – A Dordt University women’s soccer player was named a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, Oct. 15th.

Karinna Tel of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Tel, a junior from Puyallup, Washington, totaled 12 points, scoring six goals in matches played against Morningside and College of Saint Mary.

She scored the Defenders lone goal in their loss to Morningside and followed that with a five-goal performance in the 5-2 win against the Flames. The five goals scored matches her career-best for goals scored in a match (accomplished earlier this season).

Tel currently leads the NAIA with 54 points and 23 goals. The 23 goals this season also matches a program record.
