Dordt Drops Doubleheader To Dakota State

Madison, South Dakota — Dakota State beat Dordt College 16-5 in game one of a non-conference baseball doubleheader in Madison, South Dakota on Tuesday night.

The Trojans banged out 14 hits on the way to multiple runs in each of their first five turns on offense while Dordt got two runs in the second inning. Dordt was outhit 21-10.

Dordt College lost a 15-6 decision in game two of the doubleheader with Dakota.  The Trojans scored two in the first and five in the second before Dordt got on the board.

Dordt was outhit 14-6 with Aaron Parks getting two of the hits. Dekkers had the only other extra base hit for the Defenders other than Parks’ double.

Mark Nyhoff took the loss in the start for Dordt and Ryan De Wit and John Drenten each appeared in relief.

With the pair of losses, Dordt falls to  13-27 overall, and 4-12 in GPAC Conference Play.  Dakota State runs their season record to 25-24 with the pair of wins.
