Dordt Football On The Road To Concordia Saturday

Dordt will travel to Seward, Nebraska for a GPAC football contest on Saturday afternoon, October 24 with kickoff at 1:00.

The Bulldogs are 4-1 this season in the GPAC and overall with their loss coming at the hands of Northwestern on October 17 by a 44-19 score. Prior to that the Bulldogs opened the season with wins over Doane, Hastings, Briar Cliff and Jamestown.

Patrick Daberkow’s team is averaging 24 points per game and has been stingy on defense with 16 points given up per game. Concordia has rushed for 152 yards per game and 230 in the air. Teams are rushing for 107 yards against the Bulldog defense while throwing for 207.

The Defenders are 4-1 this season and in the GPAC with wins over Midland (22-14), Dakota Wesleyan (47-10), Jamestown (66-13) and Doane (44-19). The loss for Dordt cam on October 3 against Northwestern (48-40).

The Defenders run for 292 yards per game on average and pass for 239. Dordt’s defense allows 110 yards per game on the ground and 196 in the air. Dordt is outscoring teams on average 44-21.

Noah Clayberg has completed 77-114 passes for 979 yards and seven touchdowns with two interceptions. He has also run 75 times for 528 yards—a 7.0 yards per carry average and has nine rushing touchdowns. Carter Schiebout has 420 yards rushing on 66 attempts with a 6.4 yards per carry average with five touchdowns. Michael Sondermann has run 49 times for 195 yards and a 4.0 yards per carry average.

Levi Jungling has caught 37 passes for a 12.9 yards per catch average and has three touchdown catches. Ben Heuvelhorst has a 9.8 yards per catch average with two touchdowns and 17 snags. Jayden Huisman has nine catches for 13.8 yards per catch and Raphael Carr has an 11.4 yards per catch average on eight catches.

Brett Zachman has converted 21-26 point after tries and is 5-5 on field goal attempts with a long of 43. Clayberg has punted 14 times for a 39.7 yards per punt average.

Josh Mrazek has 29 tackles and Nathan Kabongo and Bryce Christian each have 25 tackles. Brayton Van Kekerix has 24 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and Jalen Placide has 23 tackles. Colyn Oostenink, David Kacmarynski and Thomas Macomber all have four sacks.
