Dordt Men’s Basketball On The Road To Presentation

The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team will travel to Aberdeen, South Dakota to face Presentation in non-conference play on Wednesday, November 11. The contest tips off at 7:00

Presentation is 1-3 this season and has a 55-48 win over Briar Cliff to its credit.

The Saints are averaging 56.8 points per game while allowing 75 points per contest. Presentation is converting 37.6 percent of its field goals while teams make 44.1 percent of the field goals they try. Presentation is outrebounding teams 40-34.3 but have committed nearly 20 turnovers per game while forcing less than 10 per game.

Issac Essien scores 11.9 points per game and snags 6.5 rebounds per game. Ian Kelly and Gaiyoom Olanlege averaging 11.3 and 11.0 points per game with 6.5 and 6.8 rebounds per game respectively. Ellis Evans and Jackson Becker are at 9.0 and 8.8 points per game.

The Defender men are 3-0 after surviving a game at Kansas Wesleyan on October 28 by an 83-80 margin and then beating Bellevue and Viterbo on back to back days on November 5 and 6 in Orange City by scores of 87-76 and 77-67.

Dordt converts 48.1 percent of its field goals while outscoring teams 82.3-74.3 and the Defenders try seven more free throws per game than opponents and outrebound teams 38-34.3.

Jacob Vis scores 17 points per game while getting 5.3 rebounds per game. He is converting 70 percent of his field goals and has three blocked shots. Jesse Jansma scores 14.7 points per game and has seven three-point baskets so far this season and Garrett Franken has 12 points per game with a team high 8.0 rebounds per contest. Cade Bleeker and Bryce Coppock score 10.3 and 9.3 points per game and Camden Bialas is at 7.0 points per game. Franken has 13 assists so far this season and Ben Gesink has handed out ten assists.

Dordt resumes play on Saturday, November 14 when the Defenders travel to Fremont, Nebraska to face Midland. The game is part of a doubleheader with the women’s contest preceding the contest at 2:00. The men’s game will start at about 4:00.
