Dordt Set To Host #7 Northwestern

Sioux Center, Iowa — A healthy Dordt University football team looks for its first ever win over Northwestern College this weekend in Great Plains Conference action. The Defenders are 3-2 and have spent most of the early part of the season without standout quarterback Noah Clayberg and receiver Levi Jungling

That’s Dordt coach Joel Penner who says it is up to the Defenders to make this a rivalry. The campuses are separated by only 12 miles.

Dordt’s improving program has made it competitive. A year ago Northwestern won 40-28 in Orange City.

Northwestern is 4-0 and ranked seventh in the latest NAIA Poll. Red Raider coach Matt McCarty says there is a lot of familiarity in this series.

McCarty says the addition of Clayberg and Jungling will make Dordt’s triple option attack even more difficult to defend.

McCarty says the last two games in the series have been decided in the fourth quarter and this one will be no different.

Kick off is at 1 pm at Dordt University.
