Sioux City, Iowa — Dordt will play a GPAC doubleheader with Morningside on Friday, April 23 at 3:00 and the College of Saint Mary on Saturday, April 24 at 1:00 pm.
Morningside is 35-4 this season and 13-1 in the GPAC. The only loss for the Mustangs in league play is to Briar Cliff and was a 7-2 decision on April 17.
Morgan Nixon is batting .407 with seven doubles, 13 homeruns and 57 runs batted in. Ellie Cropley has a .386 batting average with 35 runs batted in and has 10 homeruns and 17 doubles. Lexie Stolen has knocked 13 homeruns and has a .333 batting average with 39 runs batted in. Lisa Bolton is 14-1 this season on the mound with a 1.18 earned run average and has 86 strikeouts in 101 innings pitched. Katherine Wurtz is 11-2 with a 2.17 earned run average and Alex Nelson is 10-1 with 43 strikeouts.
The Flames are 7-24 overall and 2-12 in the GPAC.
Alexis Howe is batting .362 with 34 hits, three homeruns and 14 runs batted in. Abby Straight has 27 hits this season and Emma Hofmaier has 25 and Straight has a team high five homeruns. Straight has also handled the majority of the pitching chores with 105 innings pitched and is 7-12 with a 5.72 earned run average and she has 78 strikeouts but has struggled with walks.
Dordt is 17-19 after splitting four games last weekend against Doane and Hastings. Dordt is currently in 6-8 in GPAC play with four conference games remaining after this weekend.
Jessica Oules is batting .345 with 38 hits and 18 runs scored with 11 stolen bases. Hannah Sikkema Is batting .344 with 31 hits and 16 runs batted in. Rachel Evavold has lifted her batting average to .340 with three homeruns and a team high 22 runs batted in.
Abby Kraemer is 9-7 on the mound with a 2.89 earned run average and she has 114 innings pitched with 129 strikeouts. Rachel Evavold is 6-7 with a 3.47 earned run average and she has 57 strikeouts in 86 and two-third innings.
Dordt will face Briar Cliff on the road on Tuesday, April 27 before returning home to face Waldorf in non-conference play on April 28. The Defenders conclude regular season play on May 1 against Concordia.
