Dordt Women Rebound From Thursday Loss With Road Win

The Dordt Defenders never trailed in a road contest with Hastings on Saturday, earning a convincing win to remain in the top four of the GPAC standings. Hastings scored the next five points to cut the Dordt lead to four after the fourth quarter.

The Defenders increased the lead throughout the second after Erika Feenstra scored six unanswered points to bring the score to 28-18 with 3:31 left in the first half. Dordt led by as much as 13 in the quarter before holding a 35-24 halftime lead.

Hastings managed to keep the game in reach through the early part of the third quarter, as Allison Bauer made a three to bring Dordt’s lead to just four points. Dordt then went on a 11-0 run, completed by a three on the right wing from Macey Nielson off of Karly Gustafson’s assist.

Dordt’s largest lead of the game came in the fourth quarter as Karly Gustafson made a shot in the paint to give the Defenders a 26-point lead. Eleven Defenders scored in the game to give Dordt their 11th win of the season.
