Drake Opens Thursday Night At Home Against West Virginia Wesleyan

Des Moines, Iowa — Drake coach Todd Stepsis wants to see improved offense Thursday night when the Bulldogs open the season at home against West Virginia Wesleyan.

The Bulldog offense struggled in posting a 2-3 record during an abbreviated spring season.

Quarterback Ian Corwin returns from injury after playing only five quarters in the spring and Stepsis hopes that leads to more big plays in the passing game.

Stepsis says improvement in the receiving corps should also help the pass game.

A member of NCAA Division II, West Virginia Wesleyan posted an 0-2 record in the spring.
