Football Broadcast Doubleheader Preview for Friday September 4th

football 1Northwest Iowa — It’s week two for area football teams and the end of non district games for most teams. Once again we’ll bring you double header coverage throughout the season.

The Sheldon Orabs hit the road for the first time with a trip to West Lyon to go against the Wildcats. Both teams are looking for their first win of the season as both fell to state ranked teams last Friday. Sheldon dropped their opener at home against South O’Brien and the Wildcats were upended by Central Lyon George Little Rock.

Sheldon head coach Tyler Lloyd says the focus will be on the Orabs more so that their opponent Friday night.

Lloyd added the goal along with a win is to keep building toward district play.

West Lyon head coach Jay Rozeboom is impressed with the Orab offence.

Rozeboom would like to use tonight to get better at the basics and sees that as a key to a win.

LA and the Coach Kent Dezeeuw bring you the coverage on KIWA AM 1550.

On KIWA FM 105.3 it’s Sioux Center and Boyden Hull Rock Valley from Rock Valley. Both teams are coming off wins as Boyden Hull Rock Valley knocked off Western Christian and Sioux Center won against Unity Christian.

While there has been a lot of turnover for the Warriors, the Nighthawks and coach Corey Brandt are well aware of the effect of tradition.

Brandt adds his team will have to play a solid four quarters to get a win.

Sioux Center head coach Tim Van Regenmorter is looking to end the night with good health and sees tonight’s game as an opportunity to clean some things up.

The big key tonight will be error free football.

Pregame for both contests begins with the Radio Iowa Scouting Report at 6:05 with kick off at 7:00. We’ll stream both contests from the website at www.kiwaradio.com.
