Four Defender Women Earn All-Conference Cross Country Honors

Sioux Center, Iowa — Four Dordt University women’s cross country runners earned all-conference honors with their respective performances at the GPAC Championship last weekend.

Runners who finish among the top 15 at the conference championship meet receive the postseason honor.

“The women’s team raced incredibly well and showed its tremendous depth,” stated Dordt Head Coach Nate Wolf. “Not only did four of these ladies race to All Conference honors by finishing in the top 15 but the Defender women ran a tight pack and also finished 16, 17, 19, and 20. No other team had more than three runners in the top 20. The women took turns leading the pack and providing the energy for the team to race to the team championship. It was a beautiful example of the strength of the team being the pack and the strength of the pack spurring on the individuals.”

Jessica Kampman finished second last weekend and was the GPAC runner-up with a 5K time of 19:04. Kampman, who placed fifth at the conference meet in 2020, is now a two-time all-conference runner.

Margaret Myskowski posted a 10th place finish and matched her second fastest 5K time of the season (19:30). Myskowski earns the postseason honor for the first time after placing 24th last year.

Eden Winslow, now a three-time all-conference runner, completed the 5K course in a time of 19:30 and placed 11th overall. Winslow was the GPAC runner-up in 2020 and placed sixth in 2019.

Taylor Anema crossed the finish line in 15th place with a time of 19:40 and received the postseason honor for the second time. Anema was the GPAC Champion in 2020.
