Friday Football Broadcast Preview For October 22nd

Week nine of the high school football season marks the end of the regular season for Class 3A, 4A and 5A and the opening of the playoffs for all other classes.

Our broadcast match ups feature Boyden Hull Rock Valley at Heelan to close the regular season with Sheldon on the road to Gowrie to open the 2A playoffs against Southeast Valley.

Sheldon will take a 3-5 record into the opener with Southeast Valley at 7-1. The Orabs dropped their season finale at Unity while the Jaguars lost on the road at Spirit Lake.

Orab Head Coach Tyler Lloyd knows his team will be challenged on offense and defense by Southeast Valley. His thoughts on the Jaguars offense.

In the playoff opener it will be even more important to get off to a good start.

Jaguars Head Coach Mike Swieter is impressed with the Orabs offensive and defensive lines.

Now that the playoffs are here the margin of error gets a lot smaller and it’s all about the turnover margin.

The coach Kory Roos joins LA for the coverage on KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7 with pregame at 6:30 and opening kick at 7:00.

Boyden Hull Rock Valley wraps up the regular season on the road at Heelan. The third ranked Nighthawks are 8-0 on the year 4-0 in the district after a home win over MOC Floyd Valley. The Crusaders are 0-8 with an 0-4 district mark after a home loss to Sergeant Bluff Luton.

Nighthawks Head Coach Corey Brandt feels Heelan is a team you have to be ready for.

The key word this week is consistency.

Crusaders Head Coach Chad Moseman feels the Nighthawks are among the best in the state.
