Friday Football Broadcast Preview For September 17th

Week four of the high school football season marks the opening of district play for 8 player up through Class 2A. For 3A and larger classes it’s the final week of non district games.

Sheldon will be on the road for the first time this season to open the district schedule at Okoboji. You can hear the broadcast on KIWA AM1550/FM 100.7. Boyden Hull Rock Valley #3 in the latest 3A poll wraps up non district play at AR Hesla Field in Hull against #9 Algona. It’s a battle of early season unbeatens on KIWA FM 105.3.

The Orabs take a 1-2 record to Milford to go against a 1-2 Pioneers team. Sheldon is coming off a home win against Sibley Ocheyedan while the Pioneers dropped a close home decision in overtime to Manson Northwest Webster.

As the Orabs continue to build on the season one of this weeks goals is to reduce penalties.

In an early battle of unbeaten and ranked 3A teams #3 Boyden Hull Rock Valley plays host to #9 Algona. Both teams have opened the season at 3-0. The Nighthawks picked up a road win over Unity last Friday while Algona won at home over Garner Hayfield Ventura.

Nighthawks Head Coach Corey Brandt sees Algona as a complete team.

To win the Nighthawks will need to execute at a high level.

Bulldogs Head Coach Andy Jacobson feels Boyden Hull Rock Valley has the rare combination of being both athletic and physical.

Jacobson sees the key to staying unbeaten is to focus on winning the individual battles and the game one play at a  time.
