Frohmader-Robson Named GPAC Assistant Commissioner for Operations

Sioux City, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is excited to announce the hiring of Katie Frohmader-Robson as the GPAC Assistant Commissioner for Operations. 

Frohmader-Robson is a 2021 graduate of NAIA member Viterbo University (La Crosse, Wisconsin), with a degree in Sports Management. She played volleyball for the V-Hawks, where she was a four-time North Star Athletic Conference (NSAA) All-Conference performer, a two-time NAIA-AVCA All-American, and two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete. She was also a member of the Viterbo Student-Advisory Committee and NSAA Social Justice Committee. 

She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Minnesota (2023) where she served as a Communications Assistant with the Gopher Athletic Department. She was the primary media contact for Minnesota baseball, swim and dive, and women’s hockey programs. She was also a Student-Athlete Development Intern. While at Minnesota she served as a team liaison for the 2023 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Target Center.

Most recently she served as the Associate Athletic Director at GPAC member College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska, where she oversaw eligibility and game day administration for the Flames.

“Katie brings a wide range of experience to this new role in the GPAC,” said GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra. “She has been involved in nearly every
aspect of intercollegiate athletics and that will serve us well.  I am excited to work with her in the conference office and have her engage with our membership and above all our student-athletes.”

“I am truly honored and excited to join the GPAC as the Assistant Commissioner for Operations,” said Frohmader-Robson. “The GPAC has a long history of excellence both on and off the field and court, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and success. I’m eager to continue to support student-athletes, coaches, and member institutions in a new way.”  

Her primary responsibilities will be to assist with day-to-day operations of the league and work with various Championships offered by the conference, along with facilitating marketing and growth opportunities for the GPAC. 

The GPAC Assistant Commissioner for Operations is a new position in the conference, Frohmader-Robson joins Lucas Mohrman in the league office who remains as the part-time GPAC Assistant Commissioner for Sports Information.

She begins her duties on July 1, 2025.
