Greenfield Earns MVFC Honor

ST. LOUIS — South Dakota State offensive tackle Garret Greenfield was honored Monday as the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week.

A sophomore from Rock Valley and former BHRV standout, Greenfield helped pave the way for a Jackrabbit rushing attack that rolled up 347 rushing yards and four touchdowns, averaging 7.9 yards per carry, in a 45-10 home victory over Western Illinois on March 6. Greenfield graded at 95 percent and did not allow a sack or quarterback pressure as SDSU finished with 531 yards of total offense in the game.

Greenfield joins freshman quarterback Mark Gronowski, who was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday, as award winners for the eighth-ranked Jackrabbits. SDSU, 2-1 overall, hosts Youngstown State at 2 p.m. Saturday.
