Haverdink To Run For Northwestern

Orange City, Iowa — Emily Haverdink (Orange City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue both her cross country and track and field careers at Northwestern College.

Haverdink is a four-time all-conference cross country runner including two conference championships. She was selected as an all-state cross country runner as well. In her junior season of track and field Haverdink finished seventh in the 3,000 m race and tenth in the 1,500 m at the state meet.

“We are blessed to have Emily joining our women’s cross country and track teams here at Northwestern,” stated Head Coach Scott Bahrke. “Emily is an amazing teammate and will help our women’s distance crew continue to perform at a higher level.”

Haverdink plans to study Exercise Science at Northwestern College. She was an academic all-conference selection and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Andrew and Rachel.

“I chose Northwestern because of the strong Christian community and the family atmosphere of the team,” stated Haverdink. “I’m looking forward to the opportunities Northwestern can offer me both academically and athletically.”
