Heynen Signs With Dordt Track And Field

Sioux Center, Iowa — Emilee Heynen, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and field program.

“We are excited that Emilee has decided to continue her academics and track and field career at Dordt University. Emilee will provide great leadership to our team. She is a very versatile athlete running sprints, middle distance, and cross country in high school. We look forward to helping her reach her potential as an athlete and as a person,” said Dordt track and field coach Craig Heynen.

Heynen has run long sprints and middle distance and has personal bests of 27.27 in the 200 meters, 59.76 in the 400 meters and 2:18 in the 800 meters.

She’s the daughter of Dave and Arlene Heynen of Sioux Center, Iowa. She plans to study Social Work or Art at Dordt.
