Statewide Iowa — District and substate assignments for Classes 2A and 1A are now available for the 2021 basketball postseason. Eight teams from each class advance to the 2022 state tournament, set for March 7-11 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
First round games in both classes begin Monday, February 14. Class 1A features preliminary round games for two to four teams per district, starting Friday, February 11.
For bracket purposes, the winners of District 1 and District 2 will play in Substate 1, the winners of District 3 and District 4 will play in Substate 2, and so on.
Assignments for Classes 4A and 3A will be available next Friday, January 28. Pairings will be available in February following coaches’ seeding meetings.
