Des Moines, Iowa — The Girls All-Substate teams from the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association are out.
Named to Class 1A Substate 7: MMCRU’s Emily Dreckman, Taylor Harpeneau, and Ellie Hilbrands. MMCRU Coach Gillian Letsche earn Coach of the Year honors. Also named to the team was Akron-Westfield’s Natalie Nielsen, and Gehlen Catholic’s Rachel Langel.
Named to Class 2A Substate 7 was Central Lyon’s Hayden Heimensen, and Heather Grafing earned Coach of the Year honors. Rock Valley’s Abby Heemstra, and Lexi Van Kekerix. Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Madison Brouwer and Bria Wasmund.
Class 3A Region 1 honors went to Cherokee’s JaMae Nichols, Teagan Slaughter, Alexis Pingel and Coach Brandon Slaughter won coach of the year honors. Region 2 honors went to Unity’s Gracie and Janie Schoonhoven, along with Coach of the year honors to Jay Schuiteman. Also named to the team was ELC’s Jayden Nitchals and Kaitlyn Tendal
Region 6 honors went to West Lyon’s Brooklyn Meyer and Kennedy Kramer with Coach Ryan Brasser earning Coach of the year honors.
