Des Moines Iowa — The 2016 All State Volleyball Teams have been released. The four northwest Iowa teams that made their way to State are all represented. Those teams included Western Christian, Unity Christian and Central Lyon in Class 2A and Sioux Center in 3A.
In Class 1A third team honors went to Katie Peters of LeMars Gehlen. Emily Hansmann of George Little Rock earned honorable mention all state honors.
In Class 2A Karsyn Winterfeld of Western Christian was named player of the year. Wolfpack head coach Tammi Veerbeek was named coach of the year. Erika Feenstra of Western was also named to the first team. Unity is represented by Josie Blankespoor and Alli Timmermanns. Ashtyn Veerbeek of Western was named to the second team along with Corrina Timmermanns of Unity. Hope Rasmussen of Central Lyon was named to the third team all state. Lion team mate Ashley Boer earned honorable mention accolades.
In Class 3A Jessica Harald of Sioux Center was named to the first team. Sioux Center’s Alexis Toering was named to the third team and a third Warrior Hannah Dykshorn was named honorable mention.
