Iowa State Players Preview Oklahoma State

Ames, Iowa — Iowa State looks to break through against Oklahoma State when the Cyclones host the eighth ranked Cowboys for their annual homecoming contest Oklahoma State has won eight of the last nine in the series, including the last two.

That’s ISU quarterback Brock Purdy who says the Cowboys have made the plays at crunch time.

Purdy says the Cowboys have an experienced and well rounded defense.

It is a chance for the Cyclones to climb back into the Big 12 title hunt.

That’s senior guard Derek Schweiger who says the Cowboy defense presents a challenge.

Iowa State linebacker Jake Hummel says the defense must find a way to slow down the Oklahoma State offense on Saturday when the Cyclones host the eighth ranked Cowboys. A year ago the Cowboys piled up 461 yards of offense in a 24-21 win in Stillwater.

Hummel says the ability of Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders to run and pass puts added pressure on the defense.

Hummel says the Cyclones would like to get off to a quick start.

Hummel says if the Cyclones can get a victory it can create momentum.
