Iowa State’s Jontez Williams Assumes Leadership Role

Iowa State corner Jontez Williams says last season has provided momentum for the program, but it has also raised the expectations.

The Cyclones are coming off an 11-3 season that included a Pop Tarts Bowl victory over Miami.

Williams is expected to step up as a leader this spring. He was a second team All Big 12 choice last season and is ISU’s most experienced corner.

Williams led the Cyclones with four interceptions last season, but says there are areas he hopes to improve in for next season.

Corner’s coach Hank Poteat says William’s leadership is important heading into next season.

Poteat says the corner position needs to build depth
