The Iowa Hawkeyes could be down a third starter on Tuesday night when they visit Nebraska. Freshman guard CJ Fredrick missed the second half of Saturday’s loss at Penn State with a foot or ankle injury.
He is the Big Ten’s leading three point shooter at 50 percent.
That’s Iowa coach Fran McCaffery who says the injury is not a sprained ankle and he is not sure when it occurred.
If Fredrick can’t go McCaffery may insert backup center Ryan Kriener into the lineup. He injured a knee in Saturday’s loss.
The Hawkeyes have already lost forward Jack Nunge and guard Jordan Bohannon to season ending surgeries. Under first year coach Fred Hoiberg the Huskers are 6-8 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten.
