Iowa’s Evans, Petras, Ragaini Preview Iowa State

Iowa City, Iowa — Iowa defensive end Joe Evans says the Hawkeyes did not have much time to celebrate an impressive win over Indiana.

The 10th ranked Hawkeyes get ready for Saturday’s game at number nine Iowa State.

Evans says beating a ranked team in the Big Ten game was a good way to start the season.

Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras says the Hawkeye offense must find a way to solve an Iowa State defense that he calls unique. Petras says it was a similar challenge against an Indiana defense that features a variety of looks.

Petras on the different looks from ISU.

Petras says the Cyclones are very good in the secondary.

Iowa receiver Nico Ragaini says the Hawkeyes need to find a way to take the Jack Trice Stadium crowd out of the game. The 10th ranked Hawkeyes visit ninth ranked Iowa State on Saturday and it will be there first game in a hostile environment since a 27-24 win at Nebraska to close the 2019 regular season.

Ragaini says the Cyclone defense will pose a challenge.

Ragaini has vivid memories of the way the 2019 game ended in Ames.
