Iowa’s Luka Garza Focused On Postseason As Awards Come In

Iowa City, Iowa — Iowa center Luka Garza has been looking forward to postseason basketball since the Hawkeyes lost in overtime to Tennessee in the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

The fifth ranked Hawkeyes are the third seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament. Last season was shut down as the Hawkeyes were preparing for the conference tournament in Chicago.

The Hawkeyes finished the regular season 20-7 and will play in a quarterfinal round game Friday night.

Garza believes the Hawkeyes are nearly a lock for a two-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Garza believes the Hawkeyes have a strong tournament resume.

Garza has been named Sporting News National Player of the Year for the second straight season and he has also been named Association Press Big Ten Player of the Year.
