Jacob Joins NWC As Director of Athletic Advancement

ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Northwestern College and Vice President of Athletics Dr. Micah Parker announced the hiring of Steve Jacob as the Director of Athletic Advancement. He will help oversee the advancement of Red Raider athletics in partnership with the Raider Athletics Association (RAA).

“Red Raider athletics is excited to add Steve Jacob to our team,” said Dr. Parker. “He will help us Honor Christ through Excellence in Athletics by helping us grow our base of financial support.”

Steve earned his degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1984. His family and him relocated from Zimmerman, Minn. where he was in the office supplies industry for 33 years.

“I am so thankful that (my children) choose Northwestern. The faith aspect was very important to our family. I’ve learned over the past seven years that Northwestern also excels in both academics and athletics,” said Jacob. “It’s truly been a blessing to my family. I’m looking forward to being part of this wonderful institution.”

Jacob firmly believes in Northwestern College and its mission of empowering students to lead lives of significance. He will assist in the fundraising of the athletics department, helping Raiders to stand out.

“We have a great story to tell and a unique mission,” concluded Dr. Parker. “Steve will have a positive impact on our coaches and teams by sharing our mission and needs with the Raider faithful.”

Jacob is married to his wife, Cindy and they have four children Eliza, Maddie, Zach, and Katie. Maddie played on the Northwestern College women’s soccer team, and Katie is a forward on the women’s soccer and also competes on the Raider track and field team. Eliza is a graduate of the NWC Master of Education program. “I believe strongly in this school and its mission,” noted Jacob. “It’s a blessing to be part of it.”
