Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt College defensive specialist Summer Jansen is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played August 31-September 5.
Jansen, a sophomore from Sheldon, Iowa, helped lead the Defenders to a 4-0 record on the week totaling 69 digs over 12 games on the weekend. Jansen averaged 5.75 digs per game for Dordt who was ranked No. 25 in the last poll. She had an impressive 29 digs against No. 5 Rocky Mountain.
Jansen is averaging 5.0 digs per set for the Defenders this season and has four service aces while helping the Defenders to a 7-1 match record.
