Lang To Run for Northwestern

Northwesstern logoOrange City, Iowa —Kelsey Lang has signed a letter of intent to continue her cross country and track and field careers at Northwestern College next fall.

Lang is a three-year letter winner for both the MOC-Floyd Valley High School cross country and track and field teams. A three-year state qualifier in cross country, Lang earned all-state honors with a ninth place finish at the state meet in 2013 and placed 15th in 2014. She won the Siouxland Conference Individual championship as a senior and finished second in 2014. Lang has a personal best of 20:12 in the 5K.

A three-time state qualifier in track and field, Lang placed 11th at state and also holds the school record as a member of the 4×800 relay. She has personal bests of 2:25 in the 800m and 5:18 in the 1500m. An honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society, Lang is the daughter of Chris and Sherry.

“We are thrilled to have Kelsey running for the Red Raiders,” commented head Northwestern cross country and track and field coach Scott Bahrke. “She brings encouragement and excitement to our women’s cross country and track and field teams. Kelsey is a talented distance runner who has a huge heart and it will fun to watch her grow at Northwestern College over the next four years.”
