Lorenzen Inducted Into Iowa Football Coaches Association Hall Of Fame

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Former Central Lyon/George-Little Rock Head Football Coach Toby Lorenzen is the newest member inducted into the Iowa Football Coaches Hall Of Fame.

A five-time finalist and 2006 state champion, Lorenzen led Central Lyon as head coach from 1995-2016. A Native of Le Mars and graduate of Westmar College, he got his first coaching gig at Upper Iowa University as a quarterbacks and receivers coach. He then joined Central Lyon’s staff in 1988 and spent six years on the sidelines as an assistant. Once he took over as head coach, his teams won conference and district titles 10 times between 1997 and 2008 and made the playoffs a total of 17 times. He finished 22 seasons as head coach with a 170-70 record and serves as Central Lyon’s strength and condition and physical education teacher and girls’ track and field coach.

He and his wife Jill have two daughters, Jessie and Jaimee.
