Jackson Louscher, a senior at South O’Brien High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
“We are excited to have Jackson join our family,” said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften. “Jackson is a classy kid that plays with great passion and determination. He represents the Defender Way with the way he passes the ball and how he encourages his teammates. His attitude is contagious and we look forward to his leadership at Dordt.”
Louscher averaged 21.4 points per game with 6.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest while helping South O’Brien to a 20-4 record in 2020. He averaged 20.5 points per game as a junior with six rebounds per game. A four-year regular, Louscher scored over 1,500 career points for the Wolverines.
He claimed second-team all-state honors in both 2019 and 2020 and was a first-team all-conference selection both years while also being named an IBCA All-Star.
“I chose Dordt University to help me grow in my faith and create relationships with the players and coaches that will last a lifetime. The community and program here is truly special. I am more than excited to be a Defender,” said Louscher.
Jackson is the son of Scott and Mindy Louscher of Paullina, Iowa. He plans to study Business at Dordt.
