MOC Floyd Valley Posts Quarterfinal win Over Orabs

Orange City Iowa — MOC Floyd Valley downed Sheldon 48-32 in a Class 3A Region 1 girls quarterfinal Saturday night. The Lady Dutch will move on to the Region Semifinals on Wednesday night.

The Lady Dutch led at all the breaks they were up 11-10 at the end of the first quarter. A put back at the buzzer by Jazlin De Haan  put them up 25-19 at the half. At the end of three the lead was up to nine at 37-26. In the fourth quarter the Orabs put MOC Floyd Valley on the line to stop the clock and create some offensive possessions. The Lady Dutch responded by going 9-of-10 to put the game away 48-32.

De Haan led all scorers with 18 points. She was joined in double figures by Jadeyn Schutt with 14. Orab senior Cassidy Bart closed out her career with 14 points to lead Sheldon.

With the win MOC Floyd Valley moves on to the semis with a 12-10 record. Sheldon will end the year at 10-12.
