Morningside Football Eyes Another NAIA Title Run

Sioux City, Iowa — Morningside opens a bid for a third straight national title when the top ranked Mustangs open the NAIA football playoffs on Saturday against Carroll of Montana.

It has been a long wait for the Mustangs, who won their second straight title with a 40-38 win over Marian of Indiana back on December 21 of 2019.

That’s Morningside coach Steve Ryan who is concerned about game experience. The Mustangs went 8-0 during its fall season while Carroll’s entire season has been played this spring.

Ryan says his team must be ready for a physical challenge.

This game will be played in Sioux City but not in Morningside’s home stadium.
