Morningside Hosts Grand View In NAIA Football Semifinal

Two Iowa teams collide in the semifinal round of the NAIA playoffs on Saturday in Sioux City when Morningside hosts Grand View.

Top ranked Morningside is the defending national champion at 12-0 while fourth ranked Grandview is 13-0.

That’s Grand View coach Joe Woodley. This is the Vikings’ deepest playoff run since winning the national title in 2013.

Woodley says the first goal for the Vikings is to make it a four quarter game. Morningside has only trailed once at halftime all season.

Morningside coach Steve Ryan.

Morningside’s offense has rolled up 108 points in two playoff wins.

Ryan says the competition gets tougher with each round of the playoffs.

Kick off is at noon on Saturday at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
