Sheldon Iowa — George Little Rock scored four late inning runs to down Sheldon 4-0 Monday night in a Siouxland Conference baseball Game in Sheldon.
G-LR broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the 5th inning. Max DeBoer led off with a single to left and courtesy runner Noah Terhark scored from second on a double to left by Justin Olson for the games first run.
In the top of the 6th Ben Anderson reached and scored from second on a single to center off the bat of Caleb DeWitt to make it 2-0.
The Mustangs added a pair of runs in the 7th as Will Hamilton reached on a fielders choice. Anderson followed with a single up the middle and both scored on a 2-run single down the right field line by DeWitt for his second and third rbis of the night.
Anderson went the first 5 innings for the win. He gave up 2 hits and struck out 5. Johnny Schmidt tossed two innings of no hit relief for the save. He struck out 2 batters.
Aubren Budden went the first 6 innings for the Orabs giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and struck out 7 to take the loss. Anthony Courtney came on in relief and gave up a pair of runs on 2 hits.
With the win G-LR is now 1-2 on the year and 1-1 in the conference. Sheldon is 1-2 both on the year and in the Siouxland. Sheldon returns to action at home Tuesday night hosting Cherokee. We’ll bring you the broadcast on KIWA AM 1550 and 100.7 FM. Pregame set for 7:20 with first pitch at 7:30.
