In the girls game Sheldon led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter and 36-30 at halftime. The third quarter saw a 12 point swing as the Mustangs would end the third quarter up by six at 48-42 thanks to a 14-0 run to open the half. The Orabs would come back to tie the game in the fourth quarter but the Mustangs held on for the win.
The Mustangs put three players in double figures getting a team high 18 from Jessica Sandbulte and 12 points each from Mariah Terhark and Teyha Graham. Sheldon got a game high 25 from Krista Bousema and 13 from Sami Kleinwolterink.
With the win George Little Rock improves to 6-8 on the year and 5-7 in the conference. Sheldon moves to 9-6 for the season and 7-5 in the Siouxland.
In the boys game Sheldon led 20-16 at the end of the first quarter and 40-32 at halftime. The Mustangs got hot in the second half and took their first lead late in the third quarter and took a 55-53 lead into the fourth quarter as they went on to a 72-67 win.
Tanner Ver Steeg led all scorers with 26 points including 11 two point field goals 1 three and 1-of-3 shooting from the line. David Aeikens hit for 12 points with Austin Hayenga pumping in 11.
Sheldon had three players in double figures as well with Turner De Jong and Dylan Ennema hitting for 19 points each. Senior Hunter McDonald joined them in double figures with 13 points.
With the win the Mustangs are 6-7 for the year and even in the conference at 5-5. Sheldon stands at 4-9 for the year and 3-8 in the conference.
Up next for the Orabs will be a road trip to Okoboji Friday to go against the Pioneers.
